Visegrad Fellowship Program

A short-term in-person fellowship for doctoral students and post-PhD researchers to conduct research visits, lecture series, or archival study at host institutions in the Visegrad countries. Fellowships support stays of two to ten weeks in a Visegrad country different from the applicant’s country of residence. The programme is administered by the International Visegrad Fund and awards multiple fellowships on a rolling basis while capacity allows.

500 EUR per week stipend for two to ten weeks (up to 5,000 EUR for ten weeks); paid in two instalments (80% start, 20% completion).

Applicants must hold citizenship and current residence in Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, or Ukraine; be enrolled full-time in a doctoral program or already hold a completed doctoral degree; and conduct their fellowship at a host institution located in a different Visegrad country than their own. Remote participation is permitted only in exceptional, documented cases.

Apply through the My Visegrad online portal; submit a research proposal and upload a national ID or passport, proof of doctoral status, a formal host invitation specifying timeline, and a recommendation letter. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
