The PIBBSS Fellowship 2026-2027 selects researchers and matches them with mentors to help transition into AI safety. The program includes a remote reading group on AI risks, an opening and closing retreat with the cohort and AI safety researchers, three months of full-time research with a dedicated mentor, shared office space with talks and events, and a final symposium presentation in Spring 2027. Benefits include a 3,000 USD monthly stipend, accommodation, meals, a return flight to Cape Town, and visa support letters.

Conditions d'éligibilité
The fellowship is for researchers motivated to contribute to AI safety with expertise in fields studying complex and intelligent systems. While aimed at PhD and postdoctoral researchers, applicants with substantial research experience are welcome and applicants from all countries are accepted.
