PhD Vacancy in Contextual (Dis)advantage and Educational Inequality at Utrecht University, Netherlands

Utrecht University in the Netherlands is inviting applications for a fully funded PhD position in Contextual (Dis)advantage and Educational Inequality within the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The project will investigate how family, school, and neighbourhood contexts interact to influence educational outcomes, using Dutch administrative data and advanced quantitative methods. The position includes a full-time appointment and opportunities for international dissemination of research.

Full-time PhD appointment (36–40 hours per week) with a salary, 8% holiday allowance, 8.3% year-end bonus, pension, parental leave, professional development opportunities, and access to university facilities

Hold (or be close to completing) a Master’s degree in Sociology, Interdisciplinary Social Science, or a related discipline.
