Knauss Fellowship

The Knauss Fellowship is a one-year program that places graduate students in federal government roles to apply their academic training to ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes policy. It provides hands-on policy experience and opportunities to contribute to marine and coastal decision-making, with a network that supports leadership development in science and public service.

Hands-on policy experience in federal government offices, professional networking, and leadership development opportunities related to marine and coastal policy.

Graduate students enrolled in a Master’s, PhD, or JD program at an accredited university in the United States or its territories at the time of application; must demonstrate interest in public service and marine/coastal policy; must be a U.S. citizen, national, or dual citizen.

Submit through the state Sea Grant program and apply before the deadline; nominations are reviewed at the national level.
