Programme de Bourses Ulam NAWA, 2026-2027

The Ulam NAWA scholarship programme offers fully funded research sabbaticals for researchers who already hold a PhD to spend 6 to 24 months at a Polish university or research institute, employed full-time by the host institution. The host institution submits the application on behalf of the researcher, and funding covers the researcher’s salary plus a small monthly allocation for the host. The programme is open to researchers from all countries except Russia, with some simplified pathways for MSCA-certified candidates.

Salary for the researcher (up to 17,000 PLN/month) and a monthly allocation for the host (~1,200 PLN); potential opportunity to conduct research across all disciplines; paid sabbatical period (6-24 months).

Applicants must hold a PhD (or equivalent obtained abroad) by the application deadline and be employed at a university or research center abroad, or have had such employment ending after 2025-08-31. Citizens of Poland may not exceed 10% of principal investigators in the programme.

The host institution submits the application through the NAWA system; invited researchers may need to provide a doctoral diploma, invitation letter, proof of employment abroad, and evidence of research achievements.
