IceLab Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Scholarships 2027

The IceLab Interdisciplinary Postdoctoral Scholarships are two-year, tax-free fellowships for international, early-career researchers to work on multidisciplinary postdoctoral projects at Umeå University. The program funds three postdoctoral scholarships with a total package of 720,000 SEK over two years plus 75,000 SEK for research expenses, aiming to bridge computation, biology, mathematics, ecology, physics, data science, medicine and systems thinking. Candidates are expected to pursue cross-disciplinary research on topics such as antibiotic stress responses, ecological networks, or performance-related biological studies, within the IceLab environment.

Two-year tax-free stipend with additional research funds and access to an interdisciplinary research environment within IceLab.

Applicants should normally hold a PhD and be within three years of doctoral completion, with a strong interest in interdisciplinary research across computation, biology, mathematics and related fields.
