ASEM-DUO Scholarships 2026-2027

The ASEM-DUO Scholarships 2026–2027 provides a funded mobility grant for paired academic staff from higher education institutions to conduct joint mobility exchanges between institutions in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FWB) and eligible Asia-Pacific countries. The exchange must occur between 1 August 2026 and 31 August 2027 and the funding is awarded to the duo jointly to cover international travel and per diem expenses. The programme aims to strengthen institutional cooperation and cross-continental research engagement across all disciplines.

Funding covers international travel and per diem expenses for the duo’s mobility. The grant is awarded to the pair jointly and may be supplemented by institutional or external funds if necessary.

Applicants must apply as a pair of academic or scientific staff members from higher education institutions, with one partner from a Wallonia-Brussels Federation (FWB) institution and one partner from an eligible Asia-Pacific country. Both partners must be officially remunerated by their institutions (minimum 50% employment) and be part of institutions officially recognised or accredited by relevant higher education authorities.
