The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at the University of Rwanda is a fully funded scholarship supporting academically talented and service-oriented students from Rwanda and other African countries. It provides support for selected bachelor's and master's degree programs at the University of Rwanda and offers leadership training, career development and community engagement opportunities. The programme is part of a 10-year partnership (2021–2031) between the University of Rwanda and the Mastercard Foundation and aims to develop ethical and transformative African leaders. Approximately 90% of awards are for undergraduate students and 10% for master's students.

Conditions d'éligibilité
Academically talented applicants who have applied for admission to an eligible undergraduate or master's program at the University of Rwanda, are newly admitted (not yet started studies), demonstrate financial need or social/economic barriers, show leadership potential and commitment to community service. The program particularly encourages applications from young women, students with disabilities, refugees and displaced youth, and economically disadvantaged students.
Candidature
Apply for admission to an eligible undergraduate or master's program at the University of Rwanda and complete the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program online application portal; submit required documents such as transcripts, ID/passport, CV (for master's), personal statement, recommendation letters and proof of admission or application.
