Apply to become a member of SYL’s development cooperation advisory board

The National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) invites motivated individuals to join its Development Cooperation Advisory Board (KENKKU) for a term from August 2025 to July 2026. Members participate in monthly meetings (often remote) to support SYL’s development cooperation activities, with travel reimbursed in accordance with SYL’s travel rules and meals provided at meetings in Helsinki. Up to 15 members will be selected, with roles across communications, project administration, global citizenship education, and board leadership.

Monthly meeting participation, reimbursement of travel, meals at meetings, and experience in development cooperation and policy engagement.

Applicants should be motivated and eager to learn about sustainable development, development cooperation and human rights; meetings are attended monthly and may be joined remotely.

Submit a short motivation letter detailing motivation, relevant experience, learning goals, and interest in teams or chairing; applications submitted via the applicant’s own student union.
