Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships 2027

The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Doctoral Scholarships are fully funded doctoral scholarships offered to international students to pursue PhD studies in Canada, across a range of humanities and social sciences fields. Each scholar receives substantial financial support and mentorship, with opportunities to engage in interdisciplinary research and public dialogue. The program includes an annual allowance for research and travel, mentorship from a Trudeau-affiliated expert, and eligibility for foundation events and workshops.

Full financial support for doctoral studies, travel allowance, mentorship, engagement with events and workshops, and a collaborative community within the foundation.

Applicants must be in or entering year one, two, or three of a full-time doctoral program in the humanities or social sciences, have a research topic aligned with the Foundation's themes, and meet eligibility within global candidates (Canadian citizens and non-Canadians enrolled in Canadian institutions are eligible).

Applicants submit through the Foundation's application portal; universities may be involved for internal nomination, with a final review by the Foundation.
