Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas (OBMEP) — 21ª edição

The OBMEP is a national mathematics olympiad for students from 6th grade of Ensino Fundamental to 3rd year of Ensino Médio. It is organized by IMPA and held annually across Brazil, with multi-stage examinations and national, state and honorary recognitions. The competition awards national and state medals and certificates and invites nationally awarded students to the Programa de Iniciação Científica Jr. (PIC), which includes a monetary scholarship for eligible public school students.

National medals (gold, silver, bronze), state medals, certificates of honourable mention; nationally awarded students are invited to the Programa de Iniciação Científica Jr. (PIC), which offers a scholarship of R$ 300 via CNPq for participating public school students.

Students from 6th grade of Ensino Fundamental to 3rd year of Ensino Médio may participate; institutions (public municipal, state, federal and private schools) must register on behalf of their students.

Schools register on the OBMEP website, fill the registration form, provide the MEC/INEP code and create a password.
