Postgraduate Fellowships Abroad (Becas de posgrado en el extranjero)

The Postgraduate Fellowships Abroad (Becas de posgrado en el extranjero) program awards competitive fellowships for master's, doctoral or predoctoral research stays at universities or research centres in the European Higher Education Area, North America or the Asia-Pacific region. A total of 100 fellowships are offered for studies with a maximum duration of 24 months. The programme accepts candidates from all fields of knowledge, excluding MBA programmes.

Applicants must hold the nationality of Spain or Portugal, have an undergraduate degree from a Spanish (for Spanish candidates) or Portuguese (for Portuguese candidates) university completed between January 2017 and July 2026, and demonstrate an advanced level of the language of instruction at the host institution. Candidates who completed their undergraduate studies abroad before the start of the fellowship are not eligible.

Applications are submitted through the programme's online application portal; selection proceeds in three phases: eligibility check, remote preselection by evaluators, and final selection interviews by a multidisciplinary committee.
