The Garcia Summer Program is an intensive seven-week summer research program for high school students run by Stony Brook University’s Garcia Center for Polymers at Engineered Interfaces. Students receive formal instruction, learn laboratory techniques, and perform independent research under the supervision of Garcia Center faculty, students, and staff. The program includes laboratory safety training, daily lectures, group experiments, mentoring by faculty, and a final symposium where students present their research. Participants may continue work with a faculty mentor during the school year.

Conditions d'éligibilité
Applicants must be at least 16 years old by around mid-year (typically early July). Applicants must have an unweighted GPA of 95/100 (or 3.8/4.0), standardized test scores at least in the 60th percentile, and have taken three subjects (Honors or AP) among English, chemistry, mathematics/calculus, physics, and biology.
