Državna štipendija

The Državna štipendija (State Scholarship) is a government-provided monthly stipend intended to help cover costs incurred during education. It is awarded for study in the Republic of Slovenia and for study abroad on a publicly recognised educational programme. Amounts depend on household income classes and recipient age, and additional allowances exist for academic merit, housing away from the place of permanent residence, and special needs. The competent local Centre for Social Work (CSD) administers decisions and payments.

Monthly scholarship payment (amount depends on income class and age); merit-based supplement; housing supplement (€103.36 where eligible); special needs supplement (€64.60 where eligible).

Eligible pupils and students enrolled in a publicly valid educational programme in Slovenia or abroad whose household average monthly income per person does not exceed the income threshold. Specific conditions and progress requirements apply for continuation of the scholarship.

Applicants submit the first application to the competent local Centre for Social Work (CSD); CSDs decide on entitlement and handle ongoing administration. Links and forms are available via government/e‑administration pages.
