The Walter Schottky Prize for Solid State Research is an annual prize awarded for an outstanding paper in the field of solid state research by one or more young physicists. The award recognizes work published in the last two years, preferably in the last year, and is normally conferred to a single recipient (or shared equally if awarded to multiple persons). The prize includes monetary prize money and a certificate and the winner is expected to give a lecture at a DPG conference.

Conditions d'éligibilité
The award is intended for "young physicists", understood as persons who have completed a doctorate, for an outstanding paper published in the last two years (preferably the last year). Nominations must include a short laudation, a curriculum vitae, a one- to two-page statement of reasons and, if applicable, a list of publications and suggestions for reviewers.
