The Societal Significance of Culture is a research grant call to generate new knowledge about the role of culture in social development and how art, culture and media affect sustainability, inclusion, participation, identity and quality of life during major societal change. Projects must address at least one of the specified thematic areas and be relevant to Norwegian conditions, though international perspectives are allowed. The call is open to all disciplines and methodological approaches and encourages, but does not require, collaboration with other research organisations.

Conditions d'éligibilité
The Project Owner must be an approved Norwegian research organisation. The project manager must hold an approved doctoral degree or equivalent before the application deadline, or have associate professor qualifications or be employed as researcher 1/2 or senior researcher in the institute sector or a health trust. Collaborating partners must be approved Norwegian research organisations or equivalent foreign research organisations.
Candidature
The Project Owner submits an application in the Research Council of Norway's new application system (via the specified application form). If the application is a collaboration, the Project Owner must submit on behalf of all partners and collaborating partners must enter into a collaboration agreement if funded.
