FCT Mobility

FCT Mobility is a programme funded by Portugal's Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) to support international mobility of researchers. It finances medium- to long-term stays for doctoral researchers from national institutions in foreign institutions and for foreign doctoral researchers in national institutions to carry out research activities or fieldwork. The programme offers two modalities: outgoing mobility for Portuguese researchers to abroad (2 to 11 months) and incoming mobility for foreign researchers to Portugal (1 to 3 months).

Travel funding and a monthly stipend for the stay

Researchers with doctoral degrees affiliated to national R&D units or foreign researchers with doctoral degrees affiliated to Portuguese institutions are eligible to apply.
