Canada Periodical Fund

The Canada Periodical Fund provides financial assistance to Canadian print magazines, non-daily print community newspapers and digital periodicals to help them overcome market disadvantages and continue to provide Canadian editorial content to readers. The Aid to Publishers component offers three sub-components (Magazine, Community Newspaper, and Digital Periodical) that distribute funding based on formulas or eligible editorial expenditures over a 12-month period. The fund also includes Collective Initiatives and Special Measures for Journalism streams to support industry sustainability and publishers with free-circulation or low-paid-circulation models.

Financial assistance to produce and distribute Canadian editorial content; support to increase sustainability of magazine and community newspaper industries; targeted support for free-circulation or low-paid-circulation publishers under Special Measures for Journalism.

Eligible Canadian publishers of print magazines, print (non-daily) community newspapers and digital periodicals may apply to the applicable sub-components.
