The General Merit Scholarships for Indigenous Undergraduate Students are a suite of undergraduate scholarships administered by the University of New South Wales (UNSW) to encourage and assist Indigenous Australian students (Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander) to undertake undergraduate study at UNSW. The scholarships include faculty-specific and course-specific awards across disciplines such as engineering, law, medicine and arts, and provide annual monetary payments for the minimum duration of the recipient's program. Some listed awards specify annual amounts and durations; selection is based on criteria such as academic merit, leadership, extracurricular activities and commitment to study. Applications must be submitted for the scholarships that require an application; a subset of Indigenous undergraduate merit scholarships are automatically awarded and do not require application.
