The AREF-MRC Towards Leadership Programme 2026/2027 for Emerging African Scientists (Fully Funded)

The AREF-MRC Towards Leadership Programme is a funded development initiative for emerging African scientists. It comprises a series of residential and virtual workshops designed to enhance leadership, collaboration, and grant-writing capabilities to compete for major funding opportunities in global health research. The programme runs across multiple sessions, including an opening workshop in March 2027, a virtual workshop in September 2027, and a closing workshop in March 2028, with selection through a competitive application process.

Fully funded participation in the programme, including workshops, accommodation and travel; leadership development and networking opportunities.

Open to emerging African scientists who will be selected through a competitive application process to participate in the leadership programme.
