University of Porto – Faculty of Law (FDUP) Research Scholarship in Criminology (2026–2028)

The Faculty of Law at the University of Porto offers a Research Scholarship (BI) for Master’s students in Criminology under the project “Predatory publishing practices: Paper tigers or actual threats from evaluation systems?” funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. The scholarship provides a monthly stipend and related benefits for a 12-month period, renewable up to two years depending on project duration and funding.

Monthly stipend of €1,090.98; personal accident insurance; optional social insurance; research experience in criminology and publishing practices.

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and be enrolled in a Master’s program in Criminology; international applicants may apply if their degree is recognized in Portugal.
