The University of Johannesburg Prize is an award for South African authors or foreign authors who resided in South Africa while writing their book. It has two categories, the Main Prize and the Debut Prize, with winners receiving prize money. Submissions are made by publishers, with specific entry requirements and mailing instructions.

Avantages

Main Prize: R75,000; Debut Prize: R45,000.

Conditions d'éligibilité

South African authors or foreign authors who resided in South Africa for at least six months while writing their book; books published in English between January 1 and December 31, 2024; publishers must submit entries for either the Main Prize or the Debut Prize.

Candidature

Publishers must submit eight copies of each title together with the UJ Prize Entry Form signed by the publisher and the author.
