SEDarc ESRC PhD Studentships 2027 in the UK

The South East Doctoral Training Arc (SEDarc) ESRC-funded PhD studentships support doctoral study in the social sciences at six universities in London and South East England for September 2027 entry. The programme provides tuition fee coverage at UK rates and a UKRI stipend, with additional funding for placements and research training. Applicants may be UK or international students and may receive financial support covering most international fee differences, subject to institutional arrangements.

UK tuition fees covered; UKRI stipend; three-month placement; access to research and skills training; potential funding for an approved Master’s course within the consortium for some applicants.

Open to UK and international students who meet the academic requirements of the chosen institution and programme; eligible applicants may be considered for funding within the consortium, including potential Master’s funding for those without a relevant Master’s degree.

Applicants must be nominated by one of the six participating universities and follow that institution’s application process; submit the institutional stage and obtain nomination before the SEDarc application deadline.
