NRP 86 "Digital Resilience of Critical Infrastructures"

NRP 86 "Digital Resilience of Critical Infrastructures" is a Swiss National Research Programme funding interdisciplinary research projects that strengthen critical infrastructures against cyberattacks and digital disruptions. It supports projects that improve knowledge on vulnerabilities and risks, develop technically viable and socially acceptable solutions, and propose governance and coordination mechanisms for collective cyber defence. Projects are expected to involve non-academic partners and to produce outputs relevant for operators, public authorities, regulators, insurers and users of critical services. The programme has overall funding of 5 million Swiss francs and expects to fund approximately five to ten projects.

Research grant funding for projects between 300,000 and 800,000 CHF; project durations of 18–36 months; programme-level knowledge exchange and engagement with non-academic partners.

Researchers at universities and other institutions may apply; projects are expected to involve non-academic partners. Detailed participation requirements are available in the call document.

Submit an expression of interest via the SNSF Portal by the stated deadline; full proposals may be submitted thereafter according to the call document and portal instructions.
