MAKE/SENSE PhD Programme 2026

The MAKE/SENSE PhD Programme 2026 at the Academy of Art and Design Basel FHNW (HGK Basel) offers an opportunity for artists, designers, curators, publishers and cultural organisers to pursue doctoral research through interdisciplinary and practice-based approaches. The PhD is carried out through a partnership between Basel and Linz, hosted by the Critical Media Lab, and includes joint supervision from Basel and Linz with individual mentoring and a broader research community. Applicants are expected to develop projects that engage with one or more of Situated Artistic Research, Infrastructural Critique, or Critical Media within an interdisciplinary framework.
