Schülerinnen- und Schülerwettbewerb Politische Bildung 2026

The Schülerinnen- und Schülerwettbewerb Politische Bildung is a project-based classroom competition run for the 2026/27 school year that invites whole classes to work on one of several politics-related themes and submit a specified project. It is organised by the German Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung (Zentrum polis) with participation possible for Austrian schools. The competition provides age-appropriate topic tracks for two school-stage groups (4th–8th and 8th–12th Schulstufe). Winners receive a range of prizes including class trips and cash awards.

All classes of all school types from the 4th school grade upward; topics are offered for two age groups (4th–8th Schulstufe and 8th–12th Schulstufe). Only the topic "Politik brandaktuell" allows participation by graduating classes (12th/13th Schulstufe).

A whole class conducts an instructional project on a chosen theme and submits the required workpiece; registration via the BPB competition registration portal.
