HFFI Food Access and Retail Expansion Fund (HFFI FARE Fund) 2024-2025

The HFFI Food Access and Retail Expansion Fund (HFFI FARE Fund) is a program under America’s Healthy Food Financing Initiative that provides loans, grants, and technical assistance for predevelopment, planning, and implementation of eligible food retail and food retail supply chain projects. It aims to support projects that improve access to healthy, affordable foods in underserved communities. In the 2024-2025 funding cycle, funds include grants, loans, and technical assistance with various award sizes and rolling distribution for certain components.

Competitive grants, loans, and technical assistance to support predevelopment and implementation of eligible healthy food retail projects.

Eligible entities include for-profit businesses (including corporations, LLCs, sole proprietorships, public benefit corporations), cooperatively-owned businesses, tax-exempt nonprofit corporations, institutions of higher education, state and local governments and agencies, authorities and councils, tribal governments and tribal agencies. Individuals are not eligible to apply.
