Biozentrum PhD Fellowships 2027

The Biozentrum PhD Fellowships offer full doctoral funding at the University of Basel in Switzerland, with an opportunity to rotate between laboratories before committing to a thesis group. Fellows join the Biozentrum International PhD Program, receiving scientific training, mentoring and access to resources for independent research. The Winter Call 2026/27 is open, with successful applicants expected to begin in 2027.

Full PhD funding; annual personal allowance for conferences, books or a computer; study trips; networking; support with postdoctoral applications; travel assistance for postdoctoral interviews.

Graduates worldwide; applicants typically must hold an MSc or equivalent, with outstanding four-year bachelor’s graduates also qualifying exceptionally; currently not enrolled in a Basel PhD or contracted to one by the decision date.
