EngD in Designing a framework for the digitalization of condition-based maintenance for Lock Complexes of RWS (Case of Hengelo)

An EngD research project to design a framework for digital condition-based maintenance (CBM) and structural health monitoring (SHM) for the Hengelo Lock Complex. The project involves analysis of structural and mechanical behaviour, review of regulations and guidelines, evaluation of SHM technologies, and cost–benefit assessment of sensor deployment. The work aims to identify triggers and optimal sensor deployment to enable automated, continuous SHM with minimal human intervention.
