Globalstars Call with Japan 2026

The Globalstars Call with Japan 2026 is an international R&D project funding call for collaborative projects between organisations in Eureka countries and Japan. It supports research and development of innovative products, processes or services with civilian purpose across areas such as quantum technology, artificial intelligence, robotics, semiconductors, energy and environment, biotechnology and new materials. Participating organisations can include SMEs, large companies, research organisations and universities; German funding for eligible participants is provided by the Federal Ministry for Research, Technology and Space. Projects selected under the call are expected to begin around August 2027.

Project R&D funding for participating organisations; national funding procedures and support for international collaborative projects

Consortia must represent international cooperation and direct their project towards R&D of an innovative product, process or service for commercialisation with civilian purpose; the consortium must include companies based in at least one Eureka country and Japan, and no single organisation or country may be responsible for more than 70% of the project budget. Organisations eligible to receive funding include SMEs, large companies, research organisations and universities, subject to national funding procedures and additional country criteria.

Apply through the EUREKA Globalstars call procedure (submission via the EUREKA programme's application process); national funding applications follow respective national procedures.
