Summer High School Advanced Research Program (SHARP)

The Summer High School Advanced Research Program (SHARP) is a UNMC program that provides high school students with hands-on, bench-side research experience. It is an in-person program for high school students in grades 10–11. The Summer 2027 session runs June 1 to August 6, 2027, and applicants are evaluated on criteria including residency status, age, GPA, completed science courses, and letters of recommendation.

U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are high school sophomores or juniors and at least 16; graduating seniors and international students are not considered. Reviewers also look for a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above, completed science courses and two strong letters of recommendation.
