Nevada Youth Legislature (NYL)

The Nevada Youth Legislature (NYL) is a two-year leadership program for high school students to learn about representative government and participate in the legislative process. Each senator in Nevada appoints one Youth Legislator to represent their district. Eligible students are Nevada residents who attend a school in the appointing senator’s district and will be in grades 9–12 during the two-year term; applicants may be in 8th grade but typically not in their senior year.

Nevada residents who live in a senator’s district, attend public, private, virtual, or home school, and will be in grades 9–12 during the two-year term (8th grade applicants may apply, but usually not in their senior year).
