Ernst Schering Preis

The Ernst Schering Prize is an annual scientific award for outstanding research in biomedical basic research. It recognises scientists worldwide whose groundbreaking work has produced new models or fundamental advances in biology, medicine or chemistry. The prize is endowed with 50,000 euros and is awarded by the Schering Stiftung. Winners are selected by an internationally composed jury.

The prize is awarded to scientists worldwide for groundbreaking research in biomedical basic research, particularly researchers in biology, medicine or chemistry who have also engaged in societally relevant debates or initiatives to support future generations of scientists.
