Premios Academia Nacional de Ciencias

The Premios Academia Nacional de Ciencias are annual scientific awards granted by the Argentine National Academy of Sciences. The call includes a Premio Consagración recognising a senior researcher for sustained scientific contribution and four prizes for young researchers in specific areas. The 2026 edition awards cover Technologies of Scientific Basis (including AI and robotics), Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, and Mathematics and Computer Science. Distinctions consist of a diploma and a medal named after notable Argentine scientists.

Diploma and a medal

Candidates may be nominated by scientific institutions or by members of the Academy; personal nominations are not accepted for the Premio Consagración. For the young researcher prizes, candidates may be presented by institutions, by researchers, or self-nominate; nominees must be resident in Argentina and be up to 40 years old on 2026-12-31. The Premio Consagración admits Argentine or foreign researchers domiciled in Argentina with more than ten years of continuous residence working in the selected area.
