August-Wilhelm-von-Hofmann-Stipendium

The August-Wilhelm-von-Hofmann-Stipendium is a scholarship awarded by the August-Wilhelm-von-Hofmann-Foundation (GDCh) to support chemistry students and students in related subjects. It provides monthly payments to students in the middle semesters of their Bachelor, Diplom or Examens studies. Approximately 20 scholarships are awarded each cycle and selection considers talent, academic performance and financial situation.

Monthly stipend of 300 EUR for 12 or 18 months (3,600 EUR or 5,400 EUR total).

Students of chemistry and adjacent fields (including teaching students with chemistry) in the 3rd or 4th semester may apply; the scholarship supports students in semesters 4–6 of Bachelor, Diplom or Examens programmes.

Submit application via the online portal with transcript of academic achievements, CV, motivation letter and Abitur certificate; provide the email of a professor who will upload a recommendation letter. Applications are submitted to the regional Ortsverband/JCF and processed through the online portal.
