Reisebeihilfen (Travel Grants)

The Fritz Thyssen Stiftung Reisebeihilfen are travel grants to support research-related travel within the foundation's thematic funding areas, including history, language & culture; state, economy & society; and medicine and natural sciences. Applications must be submitted via a higher-education institution or a non-profit research organisation and are generally intended for researchers with a doctorate. The grants cover appropriate travel costs and daily allowances set by the foundation and require a post-funding report and accounting.

Reimbursement of travel costs and daily allowances (per diems) according to foundation rates

Applications may only be submitted by universities or non-profit research institutions; applicants are generally required to hold a doctorate. General educational trips, excursions, and lecture or conference travel are not funded.

Applications must be submitted from a university or non-profit research institution in postal form (original signed) and may be in German or English; required documents include application form, detailed project description, CV and publication list, bibliography and cost plan.
