Civic and Democratic Engagement Programme

The Civic and Democratic Engagement Programme is a three-year Churchill Fellowship programme that funds individuals to study promising civic and democratic innovations abroad and return with practical strategies and international networks to strengthen civic life in the UK. It supports work focused on institutional trust and reform, meaningful civic participation, and social cohesion and countering division. Projects should prioritise practical implementation and change rather than primarily academic research or general community wellbeing work.

International learning visits, practical strategies for implementation, international networks, and membership of the Churchill Fellows community.

The programme seeks passionate individuals who will learn from civic and democratic innovation abroad and return to apply that learning to strengthen civic life and institutions in the UK.
