OPD Early-Career Excellence Award

The OPD Early-Career Excellence Award recognizes rising leaders in the nuclear industry who have demonstrated exceptional contributions to nuclear operations, advanced reactor development, safety innovation, or energy systems integration. It is intended for individuals within 10 years of their terminal degree or under 40 years of age who have shown innovation, technical expertise, and engagement with ANS and the Operations and Power Division. The award consists of a plaque and is presented at the OPD Dinner during the ANS Annual Conference. OPD may provide an optional honorarium to assist with attendance at the award presentation.

Nominees must be within 10 years of their terminal degree or no older than 40 years at the time of nomination and must have been a registered OPD member in good standing for at least three years. Nominations should include a completed nomination form, a nominator letter, a narrative (up to 1,000 words), a brief resume (up to 5 pages), and optional supporting materials and letters.
