ASHRAE Society Scholarship Program

The ASHRAE Society Scholarship Program provides financial support to undergraduate students pursuing degrees in engineering and related fields such as HVAC and architectural engineering. Scholarships are awarded to cover direct annual costs of attendance (tuition, books, supplies, room and board) up to the cost of attendance through graduation. Recipients are selected by Scholarship Trustees and notified following the ASHRAE Annual Meeting. Multiple scholarship categories exist, including university-specific, chapter, regional, freshman and high-school senior scholarships.

Financial awards covering direct annual cost of attendance (tuition, books, supplies, room and board) up to the cost of attendance.

Undergraduate students pursuing engineering or related degrees who meet academic (minimum 3.0 GPA or top 30% class standing), recommendation (three letters), demonstrated potential service to the HVAC/refrigeration profession, financial need, and character/leadership criteria. The applicant's institution must host an active ASHRAE student branch or be ABET-accredited (or equivalent via Washington/Sydney Accords) or have a relevant MOU.

Submit a single ASHRAE Scholarship Application (applicants considered for all scholarships they qualify for); provide an official transcript, three letters of recommendation, and any required forms. Transcripts may be sent by registrar or mailing services to scholarships@ashrae.org. Applicants are evaluated by Scholarship Trustees at the ASHRAE Annual Meeting.
