Umeå University Scholarship for International Students 2026

The Umeå University Scholarship for International Students is an academic merit-based award aimed at high-achieving students from outside the EU/EEA. It offers selected candidates a full or partial waiver of tuition fees for Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes at Umeå University. The scholarship is awarded annually in conjunction with the autumn semester intake and is based on academic excellence as assessed by university committees.

Tuition fee waiver (full or partial); merit-based recognition; study at a globally recognized Swedish university.

Citizens outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland who have applied for a full Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at Umeå University, and have completed the application in time and, if applicable, paid the fees, are eligible to register interest for the scholarship.

Eligible students will register interest when the form opens and will receive an invitation by email with instructions; eligibility is tied to prioritising a programme as Priority 1 on the University Admissions platform.
