Vitalik Buterin PhD Fellowship in AI Existential Safety

The Vitalik Buterin PhD Fellowship in AI Existential Safety funds PhD students working on AI existential safety research. Fellows receive multi-year support covering tuition and fees, an annual stipend (with specified rates for certain countries), and a research allowance. The programme also provides invitations to virtual and in-person events and community engagement opportunities.

Tuition and fees coverage for 5 years, annual stipend, research expense fund, application-fee reimbursement for shortlisted applicants, and invitations to virtual and in-person events.

For PhD students who plan to work on AI existential safety research, including existing PhD students who would not otherwise have funding to work on AI existential safety research. Additional eligibility criteria and a definition of 'AI existential safety research' are provided by the organiser.
