Code for Africa AI for Good Fellowship 2026

Applications are open for six fellowships for technologists in Africa to work with Human Rights Defender (HRD) organisations and help strengthen their impact through the responsible use of AI. Fellows will develop AI-enabled tools and contribute to policy, advocacy, and public-interest interventions, with mentorship and support from CfA and partner institutions. Deliverables may include research briefs, prototype tools, and scaling plans, with opportunities to present work to partners at various levels.

Stipend, mentorship from CfA’s TechLab and partner institutions, network access, real-world impact through HRD projects, and opportunities to showcase capstone projects.

They seek problem-solvers with experience in AI-driven solutions, data analysis, design thinking, prototyping, and collaboration with policymakers or civil society; candidates must demonstrate ties to African communities and proficiency in English, French, or Arabic.
