DAAD In-Country/In-Region Masters & PhD Scholarships 2026/2027 for Sub-Saharan African Students

DAAD offers scholarships for Master’s and doctoral studies under the In-Country/In-Region programme, targeted at Sub-Saharan African graduates who intend to study in their home region or another Sub-Saharan African country. The programme provides financial support including stipends and allowances for study and research, with the aim of strengthening higher education and research capacity in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Monthly allowance; study and research allowance; printing allowance; tuition fees; travel allowance (In-Region); health insurance (In-Region)

Graduates and postgraduates from Sub-Saharan Africa who want to pursue Master’s or PhD studies in their home country (In-Country) or in another Sub-Saharan African country (In-Region).
