ifa Scholarship on the Management of Cultural Heritage & the Transformation of Museums and Exhibition Centres 2026

This scholarship supports cultural practitioners to deepen their professional knowledge through a stay with host institutions in Germany, focusing on transcultural dialogue and engagement with cultural heritage, collections and archive records. It aims to build long-term cooperation and strengthen democratic civil societies by promoting cultural participation, sustainability, and non-discriminatory spaces.

Monthly stipend, family allowances for accompanying dependents, visa and travel costs, health insurance, local public transport pass, language course funding.

Open to curators, restorers, mediators, and culture managers who work with cultural heritage, collections or archive records; applicants must have completed higher education and name a non-commercial, physical host institution with a joint concept note.

Applicants must work with a non-commercial host institution, name the host for each stay, and submit a jointly developed concept note; a final report is required at the end of the scholarship period.
