Newton International Fellowships

The Newton International Fellowships is a UK-based programme designed to support outstanding early-career researchers from around the world to conduct research in the UK. It is jointly delivered by the British Academy and the Royal Society. The fellowship provides substantial funding over two years to cover research, relocation, and related costs, with career development opportunities.

Salary and on-costs, research expenses, relocation and visa costs, career development opportunities, and eligibility for alumni funding after the fellowship.

Applicants must hold a PhD (or have defended by the deadline), have up to five years of postdoctoral experience, be based outside the UK at application, and have a UK-based sponsor. All countries worldwide are eligible.

Applications must be submitted through the Flexi-Grant application system with a UK-based sponsor providing mentorship and support.
