WTN Youth Science Contest

A statewide contest for high school students in Washington to develop science and communication skills by working with Washington Tracking Network (WTN) health and environmental data. Students choose from three tracks (Health Science, Science Communication, Program and Policy Design) and submit individual or small team projects that include data analysis, equity focus, and clear communication. Projects are judged by a panel of public health professionals and receive feedback, recognition items, and awards for top placements.

All participants receive written feedback from judges, a contest-branded item, and a certificate of participation. First through third place receive a plaque and project showcase; first place also receives a meeting with a relevant expert for mentoring.

High school students in Washington state may participate; school sponsorship or teacher support is not required.

Register and submit a project using the contest entry form and waiver; submissions require inclusion of WTN data and are accepted as specified on the contest page and supporting PDFs.
