Vacation Students' Programme

The Vacation Students' Programme (VSP) is a seven-week residential research programme at IUCAA where selected students work on specific research projects supervised by IUCAA Academic Members and conclude with seminar presentations. Applications are accepted in March each year and successful candidates are informed by email. The programme provides project experience in astronomy and astrophysics for students enrolled in specified undergraduate and master's level courses.

Stipend of Rs.10,000; free on-campus lodging; second-class return railway fare; supervised research project and seminar presentation experience.

Students currently pursuing M.Sc. first year; Integrated M.Sc. third or fourth year; B.Tech./B.E. third or final year; or students completing the third year and moving to the fourth year of four-year undergraduate programmes in basic sciences are eligible to apply.

Applications accepted in March each year; referees' recommendations required; selected candidates are informed by email.
