Standards in Action: Engaging Students in Robotics Standardization

A half-day interactive workshop at ICRA 2026 in Vienna aimed at making robotics standards tangible and accessible to students and early-career researchers. It explains how standards influence safety, interoperability, testing and ethical deployment of robotic systems and connects participants with professionals from standards organisations. The event is supported by the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society Standards Committee and positions attendees to learn about related initiatives such as SPIRSE and the Standards Luncheon & Prize Competition at ICRA. No prior experience in standards development is required.
