TNU Astronomy Summer School of Observational Astronomy

A two-week summer school on observational optical astronomy providing hands-on training in telescope operation, instrumentation and astronomical observation. Participants work on practical projects involving a range of optical and radio instruments and learn to use archived data from major observatories. The program includes training in data analysis, instrument design, research skills and soft skills such as academic writing and job searching. Students present group research projects to a jury at the end of the school.

Hands-on training with multiple telescopes and instruments, use of archived observatory data, practical project work, free accommodation (shared), meals, bus between hosts, lectures and soft-skills training; presentation to a jury.

Participants are welcome from international and Vietnamese universities; Vietnamese students seeking an internship are encouraged to consult organisers beforehand. Limited scholarships are available especially for students from the Southeast Asian region.
