University of Rwanda Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program 2025/2026 Intake II

A fully funded undergraduate scholarship program hosted by the University of Rwanda in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation. It targets talented Africans with emphasis on females in STEM, refugees and displaced youth, including internships, academic mentorship and professional development as part of a 10-year program expansion.

Comprehensive financial support (tuition, on-campus accommodation, laptop, learning materials, travel allowance, stipend), psycho-social support, industry internships, academic mentorship, tutoring, career development services, leadership and community engagement activities, and alumni networking opportunities.

Applicants must be citizens of Rwanda or any African country (including refugees or displaced youth), be academically qualified with limited access to opportunities, and meet admission criteria to UR earmarked programs. Applicants should be under 28 years old at the time of application (30 for those with proofs of protracted life conditions), have a UR reference number, and demonstrate leadership and community engagement.

Applications are submitted via the online general application portal for the UR Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program (UR online form). Refugee applicants use the dedicated portal and must attach required documents before final submission.
